Well, we’ve had warmer Mother’s Day weather and – although I don’t remember it – cooler Mother’s Day weather. But this isn’t ideal. You picture this day with sunshine and warmth, maybe a little breeze, preferably from the south, but this has none of that going for it. Nor are you going to see much along those lines for a couple of days yet. A few more nights of frost likely…just what the flowering fruit trees need…until things take an uptick and get heading back in the right direction. As we are assuming it will – eventually. I’m counting on it.
I just want to be able to sit out in my tiny backyard patio and commune with nature. Watch the critters and birds – in warmth. It never gets any sunshine back there as it’s facing due north, but when the temperatures are comfortable it’s a pleasant place to be. I seem to dimly recall a few days like that way, way back in March, but since then not so much. We can only imagine that Mother Nature is busy getting revenge on offspring being neglectful and disrespectful in the past – who can blame her? But is it really fair to make all of us suffer the same punishment? My vote would be no, but does she ever listen? No. No, not so you’d notice. So in the meantime, jackets on and wait it out.
