Thursday, April 19, 2018 South West Michigan – Not Buds Or Blossoms, Snow On The Treetops
Currently 33 with an average NNW wind of 10 mph dragging that down to feeling like 24. Dew Point 24, Humidity 70%, Barometer 30.19 & rising, Visibility 10 mi, Sunrise 6:53 am, Sunset 8:29 pm. Sunny today with a high near 50. NNW winds 10 -20 mph.
Clear skies overnight, low 27. NNW winds 10 – 20 mph.
Should be taking pictures of buds or blossoms in the trees by now but no…we have snow. Yes, it’s picturesque, but no, it’s not nice or proper or desirable.
Noticing the various birds that don’t usually feed together are having no trouble this so-called spring feeding near each other. The song birds are starving. I watched a couple of squirrels – a black one and a red one that don’t, as a general rule, associate together, dashing down to pick up food that I’d broadcast for them – and even that while the little stray cat that I feed was quite nearby. Nobody cares right now. They simply need food. This is one horrid, miserable Spring. Hopefully this will be the last of our snow. Fingers crossed.
