Partly sunny with a 40% chance of morning showers becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. High near 80. SW winds 5-10 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low in the upper 50s. Light winds.

Should warm up to hit the 80-degree mark for the next few days – or close to if it doesn’t quite get there. Seems like a dry week coming up, too. All in all, a comfortable spate of early fall weather for us to enjoy.

Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023-SW Michigan-Might Get Rain Overnight

Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023-SW Michigan-Might Get Rain Overnight

Currently 54 with an average wind from the NNE of 2 mph. Feels like 54 degrees. Dew Point 55, Barometer 29.95, Humidity 100%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:26 am, Sunset 7:45 pm.

Patchy fog until midday. Mostly sunny until around midday becoming partly sunny with a 20% chance of rain showers with a chance of an isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon. High in the upper 60s. Light winds becoming SW 5-10 in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy overnight with a 50% chance of rain showers and a chance of an isolated thunderstorm. Low 50s. SE winds around 10 mph.

Not a bad morning going on also there is a slight chance of some afternoon and overnight rain. We never caught any of the last opportunity for rain showers, so who knows about this one? Just a wait and see situation. There’s also a chance for some morning rain tomorrow. Same thing going on with that. We may get it. We may not. Rain or no rain, we are still looking at the chance for some 80-degree days the end of the week. Might as well enjoy them if we get them. Won’t be too long before those numbers will just be memories until next summer.

Monday, Sept. 18, 2023-SW Michigan-Missed Out On Any Rain Here

Monday, Sept. 18, 2023-SW Michigan-Missed Out On Any Rain Here

Currently 55 with an average wind from the WSW of 1 mph. Feels like 55 degrees. Dew Point 55, Barometer 29;92, Humidity 90%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:24 am, Sunset 7:47 pm.

Mostly sunny for us today with a high in the mid 60s. NE winds around 10 mph.

Mostly clear. Low in the mid 40s. Light winds.

Didn’t get so much as a drop of rain here yesterday and it looks to be dry now until around the beginning of next week. In for a warm-up, too, as we should get a few days in the low 80s toward the end of this week. Not a bad week coming up at all.

One of the latest outlooks for our weather October through December is calling for warmer temperatures than normal. The reckoning is that El Nino is going to give us this condition. We’ll see how it goes, but that sounds just fine to me. Lots can change as we well know and my area so close to the big lake shore gives us an opportunity for lake effect any and everything. At any rate, we’ll get what we get but I’m in the later the snow comes the better camp.

Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023-SW Michigan-No Rain Showing Up So Far

Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023-SW Michigan-No Rain Showing Up So Far

Currently 59 with an average wind from the SSE of 3 mph. Feels like 59 degrees. Dew Point 58, Barometer 29.84, Humidity 100%, Sunrise 7:23 am, Sunset 7:49 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of rain showers and an isolated t-storm. High in the upper 60s. Light winds becoming N 5-10 mph in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low around 50. N winds 5-10 mph in the evening becoming light.

Cloudy enough for rain, but none of it showing up in my little backyard. And if none of it comes along, it doesn’t look as if any more is in the cards for the entire next week. We could be looking at a couple of 80-degree days toward the end of next week. I’m sure one or two will show up even though we are heading into the fall season where we look for cooler weather.  In the meantime, enjoy whatever comes along. At least it isn’t snowing. Yet.

Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023-SW Michigan-Rain Coming Later And Overnight

Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023-SW Michigan-Rain Coming Later And Overnight

Currently 59 with an average wind from the SE of 2 mph. Feels like 59. Dew Point 54, Barometer 29.94, Humidity 75%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:22 am, Sunset 7:50 pm.

Mostly cloudy. High in the lower 70s. SW winds 5-10 mph.

Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of rain showers with a chance of overnight thunderstorms. Low in the mid 50s. Light winds.

Dry this morning but maybe not for the entire day. Could be some rain coming later on toward evening and overnight. Looks like rain tomorrow, too. Unfortunate, getting rain on a Sunday when so many folks like to be out and about that day. For some, it’s the only day available. Mother Nature doesn’t care. Anyway, the rest of the week is looking precipitation free and we could even see a temperature of 80 about next Thursday. Won’t last more than a day – maybe two – but seems to be in the cards for us.

Friday, Sept. 15, 2023-SW Michigan-Some Leaves Changing Already

Friday, Sept. 15, 2023-SW Michigan-Some Leaves Changing Already

Currently 61 with an average wind from the SE of 2 mph. Feels like 61 degrees. Dew Point 55, Barometer 30.06, Humidity 66%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:21 am, Sunset 7:52 pm.

Sunny with a high in the lower 70s. SW winds 5-15 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low in the lower 50s. Light winds.

By the way a few of the leaves are starting to change color already you’d think it was the middle of September. Yikes! It IS the middle of September. How did that happen? Well, pleasant weather is ours for the most part for the next week. Still looking at the possibility of rain on Sunday, but other than that, clear sailing until the following weekend. We seem to be in a pattern of precipitation on weekends. Hopeful, that won’t continue long. In the meantime, enjoy this comfortable weather with whatever you have to do outside.

Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023-SW Michigan-Nicely Uneventful Day

Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023-SW Michigan-Nicely Uneventful Day

Currently 55 with an average wind from the NNE of 1 mph. Feels like 55 degrees. Dew Point 52, Barometer 30.1, Humidity 81%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:20 am, Sunset 7:54 pm.

Sunny today with a high in the upper 60s. Light winds.

Mostly clear overnight. Low in the upper 40s. Light winds.

Cool but uneventful. Nothing wrong with that, I guess. Lots of blue skies overhead without the heat this past summer brought along with such sunny days. Nice days to get outside tasks taken care of that always need to be done in the fall. The Hummingbirds are still here in my area, but they are feeding heavy. Seems like they’re loading up for their arduous trip south. Getting to be that time shortly. Another sign of season changes -heading in the direction I’m not fond of. Still looking like the opportunity for rain on Sunday. Other than that, dry days ahead.

Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023-SW Michigan-Cooler Weather Has Set In

Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023-SW Michigan-Cooler Weather Has Set In

Currently 55 with an average wind from the NE of 2 mph. Feels like 55 degrees. Dew Point 52, Barometer 29.98, Humidity 79%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:19 am, Sunset 7:56 pm.

Mostly sunny today with a high in the mid 60s. N winds around 10 mph.

Mostly clear overnight with a low in the lower 40s. Light winds.

Have to admit, I’ve turned on the heat in my little nest. Nothing I hate more than being cold, so I avoid that whenever possible. Being in charge of the thermostat where I live makes that possible. Nothing drastic, just enough to take the chill off. Probably why I don’t use the A/C much in the summer. I live for those hot days. No more of them for a while.

Looks like we’ll be primarily dry for the next week. There does come a hint of a bit of rain next Sunday, but other sites fail to mention that, so it’s an iffy situation. I don’t know as I’d change any plans for the weekend worrying about it. Looks to be cool and mostly dry for us for the duration.

Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023-SW Michigan-Cooler Weather From Now On

Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023-SW Michigan-Cooler Weather From Now On

Currently 59 with an average wind from the W of 5 mph. Feels like 59 degrees. Dew Point 58, Barometer 29.92, Humidity 83%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:18 am, Sunset 7:58 pm

Partly sunny becoming mostly sunny with a 20% chance of a rain showers. High in the upper 60. NW winds 10-15 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low in the mid 40s. N winds 5-10 mph with gusts to 20 in the evening becoming light.

Doesn’t appear to be any more super-hot days in our future from now on. Nights are getting chilly enough for that heavier comforter and I was tempted to turn the heat on yesterday during that rainy, chilly day. Didn’t, but it was a close call. Busy getting Fall tasks done as we all know how quickly winter comes calling right afterwards.  Seems like I’m seeing leaves beginning to change already and I know. I know. It’s almost the middle of September, but seems early to me.

Monday, Sept. 11, 2023-SW Michigan-A Rainy Day For Us

Monday, Sept. 11, 2023-SW Michigan-A Rainy Day For Us

Currently 59 with an average wind from the ENE of 1 mph. Feels like 59 degrees. Dew Point 58, Barometer 29.99, Humidity 97%, Visibility 7 mi., Sunrise 7:17 am, Sunset 7:59 pm.

90% chance of rain and slight chance of thunderstorms. Areas of fog throughout the day. High in the mid 60s. SE winds around 10 mph.

70% chance of rain with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Areas of fog throughout the night. Low in the mid 50s. Light winds becoming NW 5-10 mph.

Yup, got us a rainy Monday. The rest of the week is looking pretty good. Perhaps the chance of a bit of rain tomorrow morning, but not a huge chance. From here, seems like today is our rainy day. Looks and feels like fall is about to descend on us with the cool front moving down from the north. In addition, this cold front is going to be pushing cooler weather farther south and may give those in the lower states a break from the constant heat they’ve had to endure. Possibly even some rain for those who haven’t seen any in a long time. Let’s hope so. And this front is helping to keep that potentially big hurricane off into the ocean and away from the East Coast. A front doing double duty is always a good thing.
