Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023-SW Michigan-Warm But Not A Bad Week Coming Up

Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023-SW Michigan-Warm But Not A Bad Week Coming Up

Currently 79 with an average wind from the SSW of 3 mph. Feels like 79 degrees. Dew Point 68, Barometer 29.94, Humidity 67%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:53 am, Sunset 8:37 pm.

Sunny today with a high in the upper 80s with a heat index from 95 to 100. W winds 5-10 mph.

Partly cloudy with al ow in the lower 60s. N winds 5-10 mph.

Not a bad week coming up. For the most part comfortable but Thursday still seems to be bent on causing trouble. First it was rain, and now not that so much as the heat. We could easily see 90 degrees on Thursday. For now it appears to be the only out of control day though. And the week following that, for now, appears to be hovering in the 70-degree range. I’m sure it will feel perfect.

Watching too much rain set to fall on California while other states, like Louisiana are crying out for rain. VERY dry with no rain there for more than a month and heat in the 100 degree range every day.  Mother Nature is not playing nice. Except for here, in our area, which seems to be holding its own as far as comfort goes. Grateful us.

Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023-SW Michigan-Get Ready For A Possibly Warm Week

Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023-SW Michigan-Get Ready For A Possibly Warm Week

Currently 57 with an average wind from the SSE of 2 mph. Feels like 57 degrees. Dew Point 52, Barometer 29.97, Humidity 62%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:52 am, Sunset 8:39 pm.

Sunny. High in the upper 70s. SW winds 5 -15 mph with gusts to 25 mph.

Mostly clear. Low in the mid 60s. S winds 5-15 mph.

Just overnight, almost, the week’s forecast has changed. There’s a huge high-pressure dome bringing hot weather to a lot of the country this coming handful of days. We’re going to be in this one. We could see a high of about 90 on Thursday.

Interesting watching what will remain of Hurricane Hillary bringing a tropical storm in to California. not exactly the state where we are used to witnessing something like that. I’m afraid there will be multiple problems developing from that. Fires in Hawaii, potential flooding in California, oppressive heat in the middle of the country. If nothing else, the states present a variety of weather events, good and bad, over the course of a couple of weeks. Our area is blessed to be sort of left out of the extremes, even if we occasionally dip into one part or the other of it all. About all we can do is prepare for whatever comes along and pray for those caught up in what happens in their vicinity.

Should be a terrific weekend. Sunday may be a bit warm, but other than that, the rest of the week looks to be in the upper 70s and lower 80s. No rain in sight, as of now, for the entire week. Plentiful sunshine and comfortable temperatures. One of those lovely summer weeks everyone dreams of in the middle of winter.

Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023-SW Michigan-Rain Should Clear Out As Day Goes Along

Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023-SW Michigan-Rain Should Clear Out As Day Goes Along

Mostly clear overnight. Low in the lower 50s. NW winds 5-15 mph with gusts to around 25 becoming light.

A rainy Thursday but no other rain in our forecast for about a week. Plenty of sunshine and some warmer days coming up. This weekend could be a warm one. In fact, Sunday could be sunny and well into the 80s.  Not a bad forecast in store for us.

Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023-SW Michigan-Some Sun Today Some Rain Tomorrow

Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023-SW Michigan-Some Sun Today Some Rain Tomorrow

Currently 68 with an average wind from the SSW of 2 mph. Feels like 68 degrees. Dew Point 61, Barometer 29.9, Humidity 70%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:48 am, Sunset 8:43 pm.

Clear in the evening becoming partly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers. Low in the lower 60s. S winds 5-15 mph increasing to 15-25 overnight with gusts to 30.

Today looks like a winner but tomorrow seems to be determined to be a rainy day. As of now. Temperatures might be going up for a while. In fact, Sunday looks like it could be in the upper 80s. I’m going to like that, but some won’t. Since we’re now in the last half of August, who know how many more upper 80s-degree days we’ll be having.  No need to worry about it today as we should be comfortably nestled in the upper 70s.

Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2023-SW Michigan-Once Again A Prediction Goes Up In Clouds

Currently 63 with an average wind from the SSW of 5 mph. Feels like 63 degrees. Dew Point 61, Barometer 29.76, Humidity 100%, Visibility 5 mi., Sunrise 6:47 am, Sunset 8:45 pm.

Mostly clear with a low in the lower 50s. NW 5-10 with gusts to around 20 in the evening becoming light.

Well, as near as yesterday today’s forecast was for a sunny day. So much for that idea. At least tomorrow is still nestled in that now dwindled to 1 day of clear skies and sunshine. Thursday is still forecast to be a rainy one and, once again, that is the only such day in the entire coming week. Which means, of course, keep your umbrella and alternate activities handy ’cause who knows? As of now, the coming weekend looks warm and sunny. Fingers crossed on that.

Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023-SW Michigan-Had A Grand Overnight Thunderstorm

Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023-SW Michigan-Had A Grand Overnight Thunderstorm

Currently 70 with an average wind from the S of 2 mph. Feels like 70 degrees. Dew Point 67, Barometer 29.68, Humidity 91%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:43 am, Sunset 8:50 pm.

Around 11:30 last night we had a terrific thunderstorm. Not the usual hearing thunder rumbling around in the distance, this one was directly overhead with enough sharp thunder to startle even the bravest of us. It was amazing but then I love a good thunderstorm. Next chance for rain will come to us next Monday. In the meantime, look for some sunshine this afternoon and plenty of it tomorrow. Should be a great Sunday to be out and about.

Overcast this morning, but dry. That isn’t going to be the case later. There is a very slight chance of severe weather, but whether that comes about or not, I think we can for sure count on some rain today and tonight. The weekend looks good, with no rain in sight. A rainy Monday is in our forecast though, so enjoy the rain-free days when you can.
