Thursday, May 11, 2023-SW Michigan-A Gorgeous Day For Us

Currently 52 with an average wind from the SE of 1 mph. Feels like 52 degrees. Dew Point 48, Barometer 30.07, Humidity 59%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:23 am, Sunset 8;54 pm.

Plenty of sunshine today. High near 82 degrees. SW winds up to 10 mph.

Partly cloudy overnight with a low in the upper 50s. E winds around 5 mph.

Such a beautiful day! Everything is greening up, the sun is shining, a tiny breeze to keep everything fresh – no way to improve on a day like this. Add to that it looks as if most of the rain has been removed from this weekend. Maybe a small chance on Sunday but Saturday is now looking lovely. See how fast things can change? Sometimes even for the better. Those are the ones we like best. In the meantime, enjoy today, prepare for some rain tomorrow and sort of wait and see for the rest of the weekend. Gotta love the variety of spring.

Currently 57 with an average wind from the S of 1 mph. Feels like 57 degrees. Dew Point 46, Barometer 30.13, Humidity 57%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:24 am, Sunset 8:53 pm.

Sunshine today with a high in the mid 70s. Light winds becoming W 5-10 mph in the afternoon.

Mostly clear overnight. Low in the lower 50s. Light winds.

Today is going to be delightful and tomorrow even better. We could actually see 80 degrees tomorrow.  We might be – well, we are, actually – facing rain Friday through Sunday, but there’s no way to improve today and tomorrow. Guess we just enjoy what we can and cope with the rest. Wouldn’t hurt to grab an umbrella for a few days but not right away. Before that, it’s plentiful sunshine and warmth. Sounds about perfect, doesn’t it?

Tuesday, May 9, 2023-SW Michigan-Several Beautiful Days Coming Our Way

Sunny today with a high in the lower 70s. Light winds becoming N 10 mph in the afternoon.

Mostly clear overnight with a low in the mid 40s. W winds around 10 mph.

Hard to improve on today through Friday. Temperatures well into the 70s and plentiful sunshine. Perfection. This will be followed by several days of rain which look to be ushering in a bit of a dip in our temperatures for next week. 60s for the most part, which isn’t bad, but it isn’t in the comfort zone like the 70s. We take what we get. I’m happy we’re getting the next 3 days. Going to enjoy them to the max. I hope you do, too.

Monday, May 8, 2023-SW Michigan-Things Are Greening Up

Monday, May 8, 2023-SW Michigan-Things Are Greening Up

Currently 54 with an average wind from the ENE of 4 mph. Feels like 54 degrees. Dew Point 50, Barometer 29.89, Humidity 84%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:27 am, Sunset 8:51 pm.

40% chance of overnight rain with a small chance for a thunderstorm. Low in the mid 40s. NE winds 5-10 mph.

Some lovely sunny days coming up – just not this one – until about next Friday through Sunday-as usual. Those days will, as of now, be offering us some rain. Things can chance by then, though, so hopefully the lovely sunny days will continue on. It’s so refreshing to watch everything greening up. It’s one of the loveliest things about Michigan – so many varied shades of green to appreciate. And they’re all beginning to show up. It been worth the wait.

Sunday, May 7, 2023-SW Michigan-Along With Warmth Comes Rain

Sunday, May 7, 2023-SW Michigan-Along With Warmth Comes Rain

Currently 57 with an average wind from the SE of 4 mph. Feels like 57 degrees. Dew Point 60, Barometer 29.77, Humidity 100%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:28 am, Sunset 8:50 pm.

Cloudy with a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms in the morning becoming sunny in the afternoon. High in the lower 70s. SW winds 5-10 mph becoming W 10-15 in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy in the evening becoming mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain. Low in the lower 50s. N winds 5-10 mph becoming E 5-15 overnight.

We’ll see some good comfortable temperatures this coming week but alas…a few days of rain to go along with that. It’s grand to see the leaves opening up and turning everything green. It’s probably right on schedule for that but it sure does seem as if it took a circuitous route to get here.  We certainly waited through a mess of left-over wintry stuff thinking things were never going to warm up and turn green to get here. Yet here we are, doing just that this week. Get out and enjoy the sunny spring days between the rainy and take advantage of the rainy ones to tend to indoor tasks that need doing.

Saturday, May 6, 2023-SW Michigan-Couple Rainy Days Coming

Saturday, May 6, 2023-SW Michigan-Couple Rainy Days Coming

Currently 59 with an average wind from the E of 4 mph. Feels like 59 degrees. Dew Point 41, Barometer 30.07, Humidity 52%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:29 am, Sunset 8:18 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of rain. High aroun 70. SE winds 15-20 mph with gusts to 30.

60% chance of overnight rain and thunderstorms. Low in the mid 50s. SE winds 10-20 mph with gusts to 30.

Hopefully the rain will hold off for most of the day but starting tonight, sounds like rain right on into maybe Tuesday. Should be warm though, so that’s not all bad. Feeling good to have some windows open again for fresh air. Would be nice, though, to see a sunny Sunday for a change. Alas…not this weekend. Still and all, warm is half the battle, so good enough.

Friday, May 5, 2023-SW Michigan-Warmer Weather Is Finally Ours

Friday, May 5, 2023-SW Michigan-Warmer Weather Is Finally Ours

Currently 57 with an average wind from the SE of 7 mph. Feels like 57 degrees. Dew Point 42, Barometer 30.03, Humidity 52%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:30am, Sunset 8:47pm.

Partly sunny with a 30% chance of rain. High around 70. SE winds 5-15 mph.

Partly cloudy with a low around 50. SE winds 10-15 mph with gusts to 25.

We should get some rain probably Sunday and Monday, but our temperatures will stay comfortable, either close to or into the 70s. Wow – about time, huh? Very likely sunshine tomorrow and after our couple of rainy days most of next week too. This should be a terrific week coming up. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say the ugly cold stuff is behind us. Only real spring stuff on the way. Figures, spring is almost finished, and we finally get some actual spring weather. That’s okay, I guess. Long as it gets here – this must be the eventually we are all waiting for. And it’s more than welcome.

Thursday, May 4, 2023-SW Michigan-Could See A Bit Of Sun Today Among The Clouds

Thursday, May 4, 2023-SW Michigan-Could See A Bit Of Sun Today Among The Clouds

Currently 48 with a calm wind from the SW. Feels like 48 degrees. Dew Point 42, Barometer 29.93, Humidity 73% , Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:32 am, Sunset 8:46 pm.

Partly sunny today with a high in the lower 60s. Light winds becoming W 5-10 mph in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy with a 50% chance of rain. Low in the upper 40s. SE winds around 10 mph.

So things won’t exactly be balmy for us for a while, but temperatures in the 60s and 70s will seem close enough for us compared to what we’ve had. Would be great not to see any more frost warnings overnight, but that’s a wait and see thing. At least the daylight hours wll be more comfortable. I wouldn’t be shifting the warm clothes to the back of the closet just yet but we’re getting there. For me, I can’t remember ever having my heat on this long into the season, but it feels so comfortable in my little nest that I’m leaving my hands off the dial for now.

Wednesday, May 3, 2023-SW Michigan-A Dry, Warmer Day

Wednesday, May 3, 2023-SW Michigan-A Dry, Warmer Day

Currently 43 with an average wind from the NW of 5 mph. Feels like 36 degrees. Dew Point 40, Humidity 29.73, Barometer 29.73, Visibility 9.9 mi., Sunrise 6:33 am, Sunset 8:45 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a high in the mid 50s. NW winds 10-15 mph.

Partly cloudy with widespread frost possible. Low in the mid 30s. NW wind 5-10 mph in the evening becoming light.

Hopefully the dreary, chilly stuff is now in our rear-view mirror. Moving ahead, we should see warmer temperatures – 60s, maybe even some 70s – and no more snow would be lovely, too.  Frankly the month of May can only improve on it’s not so wonderful beginning.  Nights may not be balmy just yet, but eventually the overnight warmth will come our way. In the meantime, let’s be grateful for the warmer daylight hours.

Tuesday, May 2, 2023-SW Michigan-Cheer Up, Weather Will Get Better

Tuesday, May 2, 2023-SW Michigan-Cheer Up, Weather Will Get Better

Currently 37 with an average wind from the WSW of 6 mph. Feels like 30 degrees. Dew Point 37, Humidity 99%, Barometer 29.34, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:34 am, Sunset 8:44 pm.

70% chance of rain – possibly mixed with snow in the morning – with a high in the lower 40s. NW winds 15-20 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

70% chance of evening rain. Low in the upper 30s. NW winds 15-20 mph with gusts to around 35.

Okay, so this isn’t a wonderful day and tonight won’t be terrific, but after this? Things are going to be on the uptick. We could jolly well see some 70-degree days this coming week. This, I dare say, is likely to be the last of the ugly weather. Can’t say we aren’t more than ready for that to happen. At least we didn’t get the mess of snow that happened in the UP.  Somebody really, obviously, forgot to let Mother Nature know that May is supposed to be the last month of our SPRING season. Seems she might have tumbled on to that now and is going to cooperate with us. We’ll see, but I’m feeling pretty optimistic.
