Monday, Sept. 20, 2021-SW Michigan-Fingers Crossed For Some Rain

Monday, Sept. 20, 2021-SW Michigan-Fingers Crossed For Some Rain

Currently 70 with an average wind from the S of 6 mph. Feels like 71 degrees. Dew Point 65, Barometer 30.01, Humidity 81%, Visibility 7 mi., Sunrise 7:29 am, Sunset 7:45 pm.

80% chance of rain and thunderstorms. High near 75. SSE winds 10-20 mph.

60% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low 67. S winds 10-20 mph.

Sure does seem as if we could luck out this time and be able to participate in the rainfall. We’ll see, but right now it’s looking good. Today, tomorrow, maybe Thursday. Surely with 3 opportunities available to us, we can manage to be involved in at least one of them. Got my umbrella handy, just in case. Definitely going to participate in about 3 days of cooler weather. Highs only in the upper 50s are possible. Autumn is going to come in on the chilly side.

Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021-SW Michigan- Nice Today, Rain Coming Soon

Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021-SW Michigan- Nice Today, Rain Coming Soon

Currently 75 with an average wind from the SE of 2 mph. Feels like 75 degrees. Dew Point 58, Barometer 30.15, Humidity 58%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:27 am, Sunset 7:47 pm.

Sunshine with a high near 85. SSE winds 5 -10 mph.

Partly cloudy becoming mostly cloudy after midnight. Low 66. SE winds 5 -10 mph.

Today is a lovely day. Last Sunday of summer but the fall air smell is already with us. Open windows have brought a whole new scent to my upstairs and it’s so nice. Even from me, not a fall fan.  Rain sounds like it’s moving in late tomorrow and right on through Thursday. Again, we’ll see how it goes, but this time the opportunity appears to be a solid maybe. :>) Definitely need some rain. My tiny backyard is more brown that green anymore. Been SO dry here. Would sure welcome precipitation – if we luck out enough to get it this time around.

Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021-SW Michigan-Enjoy The Warmth, It Won’t Last

Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021-SW Michigan-Enjoy The Warmth, It Won’t Last

Currently 64 with an average wind from the ENE of 11 mph. Feels like 64 degrees. Dew Point 46, Barometer 30.22, Humidity 55%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7;26 am, Sunset 7:48 pm.

Plenty of sunshine today with a high near 80. ENE winds 10-14 mph.

Clear overnight skies with a low of 53. E winds 5 -10 mph.

Today and tomorrow sound fine and dandy. Monday and Tuesday rain is scheduled to come in and the temperature is going to drop. We could see at least one high in the upper 50s, more of them in the 60s over the next 7 days….but I sure don’t see any 80 degrees hovering out there for the rest of the week. This last weekend of summer will bring us probably the last of the summer temperatures.

Friday, Sept. 17, 2021-SW Michigan-Sunshine Today, Maybe Rain Tonight

Friday, Sept. 17, 2021-SW Michigan-Sunshine Today, Maybe Rain Tonight

Currently 63 with an average wind from the S of 6 mph. Feels like 63 degrees. Dew Point 61, Barometer 30.09, Humidity 85%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:25 am, Sunset 7:50 pm

Mostly sunny today with a very small chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm. High around 85. SW winds 10-20 with higher gusts possible.

Mostly cloudy tonight with a 40% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Low 57. NNW winds 5 -10 mph.

Today looks lovely. Perhaps a little too warm and humid in the afternoon for some, but for me, perfect. There is a good – well fairly good – chance of some overnight rain. The weekend is looking wonderful. Sunshine and comfortable temperatures. A grand September weekend. Perhaps some rain moving in Monday through Wednesday. We’ll see. Definitely could use some of these rain opportunities around here but I’ll be surprised if we get much of it.

Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021-SW Michigan-Plenty Of Sunshine Today

Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021-SW Michigan-Plenty Of Sunshine Today

Currently 59 with an average wind from the SE of 2 mph. Feels like 59 degrees. Dew Point 56, Barometer 30.15, Humidity 81%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:24 am, Sunset 7:52 pm.

Lots of sunshine today. High 79. SSE winds 5-10 mph.

Clear overnight skies. Low 58. SSE winds 5-10 mph.

Just yesterday it looked like a week of 80 degree days coming up. Today’s view? Today there is a mix from a high in the 80s to a low in the 60s. Amazing how fast a forecast can chance. So as of now, we have a week of weather ahead. What sort? Who knows? Whatever will be, will be…hmmmmm…would make good song lyrics…could call it something like Que Sera, Sera….oh come to think of it. Guess that’s been done. No matter. As of now we can count on a variety of temperatures from not too chilly to not too hot. And that’s that.

Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2021-SW Michigan-No Rain In Sight For Awhile

Currently 60 with an average wind from the WNW of 2 mph. Feels like 60 degrees. Dew Point 59, Barometer 29.96, Humidity 92%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:23 am, Sunset 7:54 pm.

Clear overnight skies. Low 51. NE winds 5 -10 mph.

So-nothing but sunshine in our forecast for the coming week. No rain. Of course even when there is rain in view for us we rarely get it. Not in my backyard anyway. Pleasant days ahead with temperatures getting back up to the 80 degree range. Perfect September weather.

Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021-SW Michigan-Another Crazy Storm Yesterday

Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021-SW Michigan-Another Crazy Storm Yesterday

Currently 74 with an average wind from the SW of 3 mph. Feels like 75 degrees. Dew Point 68, Barometer 29.78, Humidity 86%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:22 am, Sunset 7:56 pm.

Partly cloudy with a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be strong with gusty wind. High 82. WSW winds 15-25 mph.

A few overnight clouds. Low 56. WNW winds 10-15 mph.

So – the crazy thunder from a storm raging way overhead one day and yesterday a storm that came in making daylight vanish and turn into midnight dark. Black as pitch outside my window before that rain started. Didn’t take long to lighten up, but while the darkness was with us – it was dark! Once again, I didn’t get a whole lot of rain here, about a half an inch, but the way the storm came in made it another unusual one. I’m hoping that if we do get rain today there is nothing  harsh or remarkable about it.

Once we get past today the weather clears up and heats up. By Sunday we could be in the upper 80s, just like summer again. It won’t last but we’re set to get there, as of right now. Who knows by the time the weekend comes around, but that’s the story for now.

Monday, Sept. 13, 2021-SW Michigan-Still Wondering About Yesterday’s Weird Storm

Monday, Sept. 13, 2021-SW Michigan-Still Wondering About Yesterday’s Weird Storm

Currently 62 with an average wind from the E of 5 mph. Feels like 62 degrees. Dew Point 60, Barometer 30.1, Humidity 93%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:21 am, Sunset 7:57 pm.

Cloudy with a 30% chance of an isolated thunderstorm popping up. High 71 degrees. E wind 5 -10 mph.

Cloudy with that same 30% chance of overnight isolated thunderstorms. Low 63. ESE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Maybe some rain today, tomorrow sounds like a better chance with higher temperatures. After that, it looks as if sunny days will be back with us for the week.

Still seeking answers regarding that storm that hit SW Michigan about 5:00 yesterday afternoon. That bizarre sound, like continuous, never-ending rolling thunder way, way up high…like a separate storm was raging very high overhead. We did get some rain – I measured .55″ in my gauge this morning – and the occasional crash of regular sounding thunder during that storm, but that noise. That eerie sound that never stopped for a second until it finally seemed to roll off to the north and east. Never heard anything like that before in my life.

Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021-SW Michigan-Cloudy With Some Rain Likely

Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021-SW Michigan-Cloudy With Some Rain Likely

Currently 76 with an average wind from the SW of 8 mph. Feels like 77 degrees. Dew Point 68, Barometer 29.94, Humidity 77%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:20 am, Sunset 7:59 pm.

Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of scattered showers and/or thunderstorms today. High 77. SW winds 10-15 mph becoming NW in the afternoon.

40% chance of overnight showers and thunderstorms. Low 59. NE winds 5 -10 mph.

A cold front stretching clear from the Central Plains all the way over to the East Coast with strong winds aloft could trigger some severe weather today. At least some showers and thunderstorms. And that appears to include the lower part of Michigan. We certainly don’t need anything severe, but rain showers would be welcome – even if it is Sunday. In the meantime, I don’t know about you but it feels more humid today to me than it has lately. Windows all open waiting for some breezes that don’t seem interested in visiting. All I am doing, evidently, is letting in all the humidity. Oh well…all too soon the windows will be closed for months on end, so whatever is for now is.

Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021-SW Michigan-Remembering America’s Day Of Terror

Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021-SW Michigan-Remembering America’s Day Of Terror

Currently 70 with an average wind from the SE of 1 mph. Feels like 70 degrees. Dew Point 57, Barometer 29.94, Humidity 68%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:19 am, Sunset 8:01 pm.

Sunny to start with some clouds showing up later in the day. High 83. SW winds 10-20 mph.

Partly cloudy becoming cloudy with a slight chance of overnight rain showers and thunderstorms. Low 65. SW winds 10-15 mph.

Enjoy today because the mention of rain shows up in the next 4 days of forecasts. Not to say any of it will show up here, but the words are out there, hovering like either a promise if you’re hoping for some rain or a threat if you want clear sunny days.

Whatever our weather today, more than 3,000 victims – plus all of the ripples from impact deaths that were directly attributed to that terrorist attack – will not be here to experience it. Something bad, something evil, has infiltrated our nation working to erase the unity against terrorists, cloud and eradicate the cohesion of a country in defense of enemies. Personally, I believe that was the purpose of the dangerous Politically Correct Game that seemed to be introduced as a way to force folks to accept any and everything. Too many people, too many formerly patriotic people, have as a result accepted defeat from within – all beginning with the stomach-churning pain and horror of the 9/11 attack in New York. We need to shake off whatever is holding us down and rise up to remembering and unite again as a solid nation of people loyal to our country, to our flag, to each other. Nothing to do with the weather you say? Oh really…fragments, remainders, specs of the people incinerated on 9/11 are still swirling around in our atmosphere – raining down on us daily in infinitely minute traces. We just aren’t paying attention anymore.
