Wednesday, June 10, 2020-SW Michigan-Cristobal Traveled Through And On

Wednesday, June 10, 2020-SW Michigan-Cristobal Traveled Through And On

Currently 83 with an average wind from the S of 5 mph. Feels like 88 degrees. Dew point 72, Barometer 29.55, Humidity 69%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:21 pm

70% chance of showers and thunderstorms today. Some t-storms may be severe with gusty wind in the afternoon. High mid 80s. SW winds 10 -20 mph with gusts to 30.

Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of overnight rain showers. Low in the mid 50s. W winds 15 -20 mph with gust to 35.

Caught the picture of what appears to be an arrow in the sky yesterday as if Mother Nature was actively pointing out the direction for the remnants of what once was Tropical Storm Cristobal to clear on out of the USA and head on in to Canada.

We did have plenty of rain overnight but unless I managed to miss it all, I never did hear any thunder or see lightening brightening up our night sky. Seemed windy from time to time but that seemed to be the extent of what Cristobal brought to my area. That was enough.

Tuesday, June 9, 2020-SW Michigan-Sunny Into Possible Stormy Today

Tuesday, June 9, 2020-SW Michigan-Sunny Into Possible Stormy Today

Currently 74 with a SE wind of 2 mph. Feels like 74 degrees. Dew Point 54, Barometer 29.86, Humidity 49%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:20 pm.

Sunny until about midday with a partly sunny afternoon with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. High around 90. SE winds 5 -10 mph with higher gusts possible.

90% chance of overnight showers and thunderstorms. Low in the 0wer 70s. SE winds 15 -20 mph with gusts to around 40.

Our forecast seems to be on target so far. Really hot tonight with storms coming in overnight that will help drop our daytime temperature around 20 degrees quite quickly. After that the remnants of Cristobal will be scooting up into Canada but it sure did manage to travel clear across the country south to north more or less intact before finally leaving us. You’ve got to give it to this storm system for it’s stick-to-it attitude if nothing else.

Monday, June 8, 2020-SW Michigan-Another Pleasant Day In Store

Monday, June 8, 2020-SW Michigan-Another Pleasant Day In Store

Currently 66 with an average wind from the SE of 3 mph. Feels like 66 degrees. Dew Point 53, Barometer 30.05, Humidity 63%, Sunrise 6:02 am, Sunset 9:20 pm.

Sunny with a high in the mid 80s. SE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Mostly clear tonight. Low in the lower 60s. SW winds 5 – 10 mph.

So far a very pleasant morning with the high heading up where I like it, in the 80s. Tomorrow now, not so sure I’ll be all that thrilled with the numbers. 90s are not comfortable, even for me, but the remnants of Cristobal will roll through and cool us down considerably by Wednesday, so sounds like only one A/C day for me. For the present anyway.

June 7, 2020-SW Michigan-Sunny And Pleasant Today

June 7, 2020-SW Michigan-Sunny And Pleasant Today

Currently 63 with an average wind from the ESE of 2 mph. Feels like 63 degrees. Dew Point 54, Barometer 30.13, Humidity 71%, Sunrise 6:03 am, Sunset 9:19 pm.

Sunny today. High mid 70s. E winds 5 -10 mph becoming light in the afternoon.

Mostly clear overnight. Low mid 50s. E winds 5 -10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

A great day in store today. Sounds as if it’s going to get hot and stormy about midweek so today is one to savor. Tropical Storm Cristobal should give us a glancing blow late Tuesday and into Wednesday. We’ll see how strong that blow is when we get to it. The heat is sounding like a solid prediction for Tuesday. 90s – that’s hot.

Saturday, June 6, 2020-SW Michigan-A Splendid Day On Tap

Saturday, June 6, 2020-SW Michigan-A Splendid Day On Tap

Currently 73 with an average wind from the SW of 5 mph. Feels like 73 degrees. Dew Point 54, Barometer 30.03, Humidity 51%, Sunrise 6:03 am, Sunset 9:19pm. Interesting that all of the weather reporting stations have decided to delete the Visibility numbers. It suddenly doesn’t matter how clear our air is? How far we can see? Oh well…obviously too much work for somebody to record.

Sunny today. High in the mid 70s. NW winds 5 -15 mph.

Mostly clear. Low in the lower 50s. NW winds around 10 mph.

Although Tropical Storm Cristobal is raising heck far to the south, we won’t be seeing any effects until around Wednesday. Tuesday sounds like a high in the lower 90s with a considerable drop in temps by the next day, therefore, storms will be moving in and the rain washing away the heat.

Friday, June 5, 2020-SW Michigan-Sun And Rain

Friday, June 5, 2020-SW Michigan-Sun And Rain

Currently 79 with an average wind from the SSE wind of 3 mph. Feels like 79 degrees. Dew Point 60, Barometer 29.86, Humidity 29.86, Sunrise 6:03 am, Sunset 9:18pm.

Partly sunny with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. High in the lower 80s. SW winds around 10 mph becoming W in the afternoon.

Mostly clear overnight. Low in the upper 50s. W winds around 10 mph.

The forecast appears to have us building up in heat until we reach around 90 degrees next Tuesday. Of course we all now now factual these forecast turn out to be, but maybe… As much as I like warm weather, 90 is too hot for even me. I’m going to hope this particular forecast is off base. We’ll see. In the meantime, I think I’ll make sure my A/C is in working order :>)

Thursday, June 4, 2020-SW Michigan-Sunny And Warm Summer Day

Thursday, June 4, 2020-SW Michigan-Sunny And Warm Summer Day

Currently 73 with a calm wind. Feels like 73. Dew Point 61, Barometer 29.78 & rising, Humidity 65%, Sunrise 6:04 am, Sunset 9:17 pm.

Mostly sunny. High mid 80s. Light winds becoming W 5 -10 mph.

Partly cloudy. Low lower 60s. Light winds.

Perhaps some rain tomorrow but today and next week for the most part sound lovely. Upper 70s, lower 80s. Couldn’t ask for more or better. Tropical Storm Cristobal could send us up some moisture toward the end of next week, but other than that looks like smooth sailing here.

Wednesday, June 3, 2020-SW Michigan- Had Great Overnight Thunderstorm

Wednesday, June 3, 2020-SW Michigan- Had Great Overnight Thunderstorm

Currently 70 with an average wind from the SW of 4 mph. Feels like 70 degrees. Dew Point 63, Barometer 21.79 & falling, Humidity 81%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:04 am, Sunset 9:17 pm.

Mostly cloudy until midday then clearing. High around 80. W winds 5 – 15 mph.

Mostly clear overnight. Low upper 50s. W winds 5 -10 mph becoming light.

Around midnight last night woke to brilliant flashes of light and deep rumbles of thunder. I fully intended to enjoy the entire storm, but fell promptly back to sleep and slept through the rest of it. It did leave everything fresh and clean this morning. We have a grand week coming at us with plenty of 80 degree days, which is a happy thought. Sure does look summery out there today.

Tuesday, June 2, 202-SW Michigan-Sunny Today, Rainy Tonight

Tuesday, June 2, 202-SW Michigan-Sunny Today, Rainy Tonight

Currently 75 with an average wind from the SSW of 6 mph. Feels like 75. Dew Point 62, Barometer 29.88 & falling, Humidity 64%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:04 am, Sunset 9:16 pm.

Mostly sunny. High in the low 80s. SW winds 10 -15 mph with gusts to around 30.

Partly cloudy with a 60% chance of overnight showers and thunderstorms. Low mid 60s. W winds 5- 15 mph.

A nice week coming up. A bit of rain now and then but temperatures in the lower 80s, upper 70s. Sounds good. There is a wave of warmer weather and a fairly good chance of storms across the northern midwest.   In many cases, these systems that sweep across the country leave us teetering on the upper edge and it’s mostly missed us. Chances are this batch will too. Of course, we’ll see how it goes, but for now things look good, today is starting off lovely.

Monday, June 1, 2020-SW Michigan – Rain Coming In This Afternoon, Overnight

Monday, June 1, 2020-SW Michigan – Rain Coming In This Afternoon, Overnight

Currently 67 with an average wind from the SSE of 5 mph. Feels like 67 degrees. Dew Point 43, Barometer 30.24, Humidity 42%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 6:05 am, Sunset 9:15 pm.

Mostly sunny until afternoon then a 60% chance of rain showers. High in the lower 70s. SW winds 5 – 15 mph.

Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of overnight showers. Low lower 60s. SW winds 5 – 15 mph.

I turned on heat on yesterday afternoon and it was nice and cozy in here all night. Now, supposedly it will warm up and I can shut it off again. Nothing I hate worse than being cold, so I’m happy I have the ability to stay warm when I need it. But this is June, for crying out loud, so it would be great if it would warm up and stay warm now. Just a happy thought, but one I can’t help but entertain.
