Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019-South West Michigan-A Couple Of Decent Days Coming Up

Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019-South West Michigan-A Couple Of Decent Days Coming Up

Currently 30 with an average wind from the S of 12 mph. Feels like 21 degrees. Dew Point 17, Humidity 57%, Barometer 30.02 & falling, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:26 am, Sunset 5:24 pm.

Cloudy morning becoming a partly cloudy afternoon. High 41. SW winds 10 -20 mph.

Cloudy tonight with a low of 34. WSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Personally, I’m so happy that the next couple of days with be ‘mild’ as my outdoor electric outlet has given up the ghost and isn’t allowing the heated bird bath do properly do it’s job. First clue was the morning I went out to refill it and feed the birds only to find a solid chunk of leaf crusted ice. Not good. So, hopefully by the beginning of next week, when the cold comes crashing down on us again, it will be fixed. I will appreciate that. The birds and critters that frequent that spot will appreciate it.

Friday, Nov. 8,2019-South West Michigan-Seems To Be A Chance Of Snow Or Rain Every Day Coming Up

Friday, Nov. 8,2019-South West Michigan-Seems To Be A Chance Of Snow Or Rain Every Day Coming Up

Currently 24 with an average wind from the NNW of 3 mph. Feels like 21 degrees. Dew Point 21, Humidity 87%, Barometer 30.46 & rising, Barometer 30.46 & rising, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 7:25 am, Sunset 5:25 pm.

Partly cloudy to overcast. High 32. WSW winds 5 -10 mph.

Cloudy with a low of 25. SSW winds 10 -15 mph.

My, but there doesn’t appear to be a whole lot of variety in our days coming up.  A chance of rain or snow every day until about the end of next week – and even at that, they’re only giving us one supposedly dry day. Who knows? By the time that day arrives it might have  joined the rest of the dreary days, not even giving us one tiny break. We’ll see. I’m already wishing for nice summer days.

Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019-South West Michigan-Had A Couple Inches Of Overnight Snow

Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019-South West Michigan-Had A Couple Inches Of Overnight Snow

Currently 26 with an average wind from the NW of 7 mph. Feels like 17 degrees. Dew Point 19, Humidity 76%, Barometer 30.39 & rising, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:23 am, Sunset 5.26 pm.

Partly to mostly cloudy with a few snow flurries possible. High 32. WNW winds 10 -15 mph.

Partly cloudy with a few snow showers likely. Low 21. NW winds 5 -10 mph.

Well, they had predicted 1-3″ of snow yesterday and I did measure about 2″ of snow in my gauge this morning. Also discovered my heated bird bath isn’t working. Fine. Means I’ll have to get a new one. Can’t believe winter is upon us so soon and so completely. I somehow doubt we’re going to have to worry about a White Christmas – for those who bother worrying about something like that. I’ve got this feeling we’re going to be seeing way, way too much white before this season goes away.

Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019-South West Michigan-Snow Beginning To Show Up Often In Forecasts

Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019-South West Michigan-Snow Beginning To Show Up Often In Forecasts

Currently 32 with an average wind from the S of 5 mph. Feels like 27 degrees. Dew Point 30, Humidity 93%, Barometer 30.35 & falling, Visibility .03 mi. 100% chance of morning snow will become afternoon rain. 1-3″ snow expected. High 37. SW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Mostly cloudy with a 70% chance of evening snow showers. Less than 1″ expected. Low around 25. NNW winds 5- 10 mph.

Besides about 3 rounds of cold air that are going to be swooping down on us, it sounds as if snow now and again will be around to accompany the chilly air. Swell. Nothing like Winter. Seriously. There is nothing like Winter. And that doesn’t mean anything good, by the way.

Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019-South West Michigan-Gearing Up For Cold Pattern Coming

Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019-South West Michigan-Gearing Up For Cold Pattern Coming

Currently 36 with an average wind from the W of 9 mph. Feels like 29 degrees. Dew Point 26, Barometer 30.19 & rising, Humidity 68%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:21 am, Sunset 5:28 pm.

Mostly clear with a possibility of flurries or snow showers late. Low 26. W winds 5 – 10 mph.

Not bad right now, but it sounds as if by next week we’re going to be shivering. In fact, it appears there are 3 separate blasts of cold air funneling down on us. Not a pleasant thought. This winter is already shaping up to be one we’re not going to be fond of.

Monday, Nov. 4, 2019-South West Michigan-Going To Cloud Up Again

Monday, Nov. 4, 2019-South West Michigan-Going To Cloud Up Again

Currently 47 with an average wind from the SW of 13 mph. Feels like 42 degrees. Dew Point 39, Barometer 29.88, Humidity 73%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:20 am, Sunset 5:30 pm. Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a rain shower. High near 50. WSW winds 10 -20 mph.

Partly cloudy with a rain shower or wet snow shower possible. Low 33. W winds 5 – 10 mph.

So far not a bad morning a few thin patches in the clouds. Not thin enough to allow an actual sunbeam to break through, but a little lightness here and there. Good enough, I guess. Tomorrow sounds like a day offering us plenty of sunshine. So far, anyway. Things change quickly here, of course, but fingers are crossed.

Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019-South West Michigan-Frosty, Hints Of Light Snow Mornings Now

Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019-South West Michigan-Frosty, Hints Of Light Snow Mornings Now

Currently 33 with an average wind from the SW of 5 mph. Feels like 28 degrees. Dew Point 217, Barometer 30.16 & rising, Humidity 77%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:18 am, Sunset 5:31 pm.

Cloudy with a high around 44 degrees. SW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Cloudy tonight with an 80% chance of light rain. Low 39. S winds 10-20 mph.

The wind this morning is just plain cold. Hints left behind from yesterday’s hail and snow, all of which came and went off and on, making it a miserable day. Hail, a few times, came straight down and heavy. Large hail stones. Not fun. Today is dry, just cold.

Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019-South West Michigan-Cloudy, Cool, Rain/Snow Showers Continue

Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019-South West Michigan-Cloudy, Cool, Rain/Snow Showers Continue

Currently 39 with an average wind from the WSW of 8 mph. Feels like 33 degrees. Dew Point 35, Barometer 30.04 & falling, Humidity 86%, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 8:19 am, Sunset 6:32 pm.

40% chance of morning rain showers becoming a mix of afternoon rain/snow showers. High near 40. WSW winds 10 -20 mph.

Mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of overnight snow showers. Low around 30. W winds 5 – 10 mph.

We seem to be stuck in this miserable little weather pattern with nothing but clouds, chilly temperatures and a cold rain/snow mix showing up every so often. Not conducive to being all that willing to go outside and try to clean up the dead, colorful leaf carpeting covering the lawns. Alas…doesn’t appear to be anything even close to allowing that until about the end of next week. Scattered in between then and now seems to be a lot of wintry mix nonsense.

Oh, and don’t forget we are forced to participate in the ridiculous time changing idiocy tonight. Makes you wonder when anyone in Washington will be willing to stop playing stupid political games and get serious about doing some thing useful. Like, for instance, putting a stop to the twice a year goofing up the time.

Friday, Nov. 1, 2019-South West Michigan-Only Got Light Snow

Friday, Nov. 1, 2019-South West Michigan-Only Got Light Snow

Currently 32 with an average wind from the SW wind of 7 mph. Feels like 25 degrees. Dew Point 26, Barometer 30.18 & rising, Humidity 79%, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:16 am, Sunset 6:33 pm. Lots of clouds. High 43. SW winds 10 -20 mph.

Cloudy with a 50% chance of rain and snow showers. Low 35. SW winds 5 – 10 mph.

The snow we saw yesterday was light and never did do much if any accumulating. There was only a .65″ liquid measurement in my rain gauge and pretty much all of that was rain. That didn’t hurt anybody’s feelings. Nobody was looking forward to snow on Halloween. It does look as if the next week or so is going to continue to be quite chilly as substantial cold front is going to be pouring down from the Canada region.
