Friday, Sept. 20, 2019-South West Michigan-Expecting A Few Days Of Rain

Friday, Sept. 20, 2019-South West Michigan-Expecting A Few Days Of Rain

Currently 62 with an average wind from the E of 1 mph. Feels like 62. Dew Point 60, Humidity 94%, Barometer 30.14 & rising, Visibility 10 mil., Sunrise 7:27 am, Sunset 7:43 pm. Mix of sun and clouds. High 83. Light and variable winds.

Mostly clear but with a slight chance for a straw shower or thunderstorm to show up. Low 65. Light and variable winds.

Looks like today we may escape the rain, but not so sure about the next couple of days. Doesn’t sound like it. Not all that thrilled about a rainy weekend, but they will come along once in awhile, like it or not. We shall see what we shall see. What I do know is we won’t be facing the catastrophe that Tropical Storm, Imelda brought to Texas. Just a few days of our kind of rain is SO much different than what happened there. BIG difference between needing an umbrella or a rescue unit to get us through.

Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019-South West Michigan-Mostly Sunny, Warmth To Continue

Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019-South West Michigan-Mostly Sunny, Warmth To Continue

Currently 64 with an average wind from the SE of 4 mph. Feels like 53. Humidity 67%, Barometer 30.13 & rising, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:25, Sunset 7:45 pm. Mostly sunny morning with a few afternoon clouds floating in. High 82. S winds 5 -10 mph.

A few overnight clouds. Low 60. Light and variable winds.

With the Jet Stream riding nicely to the north and a solid high pressure system helping things along, we’re looking forward to the next couple of weeks being a bit above normal in the temperature department. Appreciation for that. Right now looking at the possibility of a rainy weekend ahead, which isn’t quite as appreciated, but things could change. Well, they could change in regard to the temperatures, too, but hopefully that part won’t. We shall see.

Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019-South West Michigan-Glorious Morning Sunshine

Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019-South West Michigan-Glorious Morning Sunshine

Currently 69 with an average wind from the SE of 8 mph. Feels like 69 degrees. Dew Point 60, Humidity 74%, Barometer 30.16 & rising, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:24 am, Sunset 7:47 pm. A nicely sunny morning with a few afternoon clouds moving in. High around 80. SSE winds 5 -10 mph.

Mainly clear overnight. Low 57. SE winds 5 -10 mph.

A bit cool this morning but it’s a beautiful day. More dried leaves on the ground lately. Not the colorful ones, mainly those who have given their leafy little lives up from drying out and losing their grip on their branch. Soon enough the color will show up and then the ground will be littered with Nature’s confetti.

Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019-South West Michigan-Forecast Is For Partly Cloudy Today

Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019-South West Michigan-Forecast Is For Partly Cloudy Today

Currently 60 with an average wind from the E of 8 mph. Feels like 59 degrees. Dew Point 57, Humidity 90%, Barometer 30.19 & rising, Visibility 7 mi., Sunrise 7:23 am, Sunset 7:48 on, Area of dense morning fog. A mix of sun and clouds today. High 77. E winds 5 – 10 mph.

Mostly clear overnight. Low 57. ESE winds 5 – 10 mph.

I see the forecast, but circumstances are going to have to change considerably before providing a path for any sunshine to get this far.  There’s a fairly solid layer of clouds overhead with nary a hint of a break yet this morning. Not to say it won’t happen, just not right soon. I have a vision of little rays of sunshine up there hard at work trying to batter their way through the clouds in valiant efforts to fulfill their destiny. I’m on their side. The day will turn out much lighter, brighter and more enjoyable when they do. Right now, without them, things are rather blah.

Monday, Sept. 16, 2019-South West Michigan-Half Way Through Sept Already

Monday, Sept. 16, 2019-South West Michigan-Half Way Through Sept Already

Currently 68 with a NE wind of 6 mph. Feels like 68 degrees. Dew Point 64, Humidity 88%, Barometer 30.09 & rising, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:22 am, Sunset 7:50 pm. Cloudy becoming a partly cloudy afternoon. High 78. NNE winds 5 – 10 mph.

It really is hard to imagine we’re this far into September already. And we’re all saying, “I see a few trees changing. Some leaves falling. It’s so early.” But is it? I guess not when you get right down to it. For those of us who are dreading the approach of winter, the steady encroachment of Autumn is not an especially happy time. We try. We really do. We appreciate the color of the dying leaves. We are grateful for the ability to tend to our outdoor chores in cooler temperatures – even while missing the warmth of summer. But we are still surprised, none the less, by the rapid advance of time. Like finding our way already half way through the month of September.

Sunday, Sept 15, 2019-South West Michigan-Cloudy Fall-Like Day

Sunday, Sept 15, 2019-South West Michigan-Cloudy Fall-Like Day

Currently 69 with an average wind from the SSW of 10 mph. Feels like 69 degrees. Dew Point 59, Humidity 71%, Barometer 30.06 & falling, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 7:21 am, Sunset 7:52 pm. Cloudy early with a 40% chance of off and on afternoon showers. Thunder possible. High 71. SW winds 10 -15 mph.

Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of overnight rain. Low 63. Light and variable winds.

For people who savor this type of weather, fall-like clouds and a bit cool, today is about perfect. Not my favorite, I’m a Spring person, but I have to admit, today is comfortable. As long as the rain holds off, and so far, so good, it’s a fine day to be out and about. Time to tend to the usual stuff around the great outdoors that need to be taken care of before the weather changes. And from here on out it can only change for the worse. Personally, I’m going to take care of everything I can today, get it done and out of the way. Soon enough everything is going to be covered with dying leaves, so this is the time for outdoor work to get done.

Saturday, Sept 14, 2019-South West Michigan-Sunny Sixties For Us Today

Still having trouble with my right hand today, so a short report. Typing is not fun. Lots of sunshine today, cool but pleasant temperatures with tomorrow, unfortunately promising a rainy Sunday. That’s not going to make too many folks happy. Perhaps it will change between then and now. I hope so.

Friday, Sept. 13, 2019-South West Michigan-Heavy Overnight Rain

Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019-South West Michigan-Gray Day After A Stormy Night

Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019-South West Michigan-Gray Day After A Stormy Night

Currently 59 with an average wind from the E of 13 mph. Feels like 57 degrees. Dew Point 57, Humidity 94%, Barometer 30.18, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 7:18 am, Sunset 7:57 pm. Overcast with a stray shower or thunderstorm possible. High 69. E winds 10 -20 mph.

Cloudy with a 40% chance of overnight showers. Heavy rainfall possible. Low 62. ESE winds 10 -20 mph.

Last night brought us severe thunderstorms, tornado watches and a few tornado warnings. Nothing severe happened in my little back yard, but the area affected was wide so I wouldn’t be surprised if a few places didn’t end up with something harsh. Lots of lightening, some wind…that was the extend of my share of the storm system. Nothing expected today but clouds and perhaps a bit of rain.

It’s a sad day for America. Our innocence and more than 3,000 of our citizens, gone in a heartbeat. Not only that but people are still dying, on a daily basis, from lung diseases, cancers due to what they inhaled on that horrible day. First responders who rushed to aid their fellow Americans. So the death toll continues, like ripples from a dreadful pool of deceit and terrorism.

Doesn’t matter in the least what our weather is today. Or yours, either. None of those innocent people are around to experience any of it. They lost the right to even see noon on that painful day. Families and friends of all of them had a good portion of their hearts destroyed that day and none have been able, or will ever be able, to rebuild what was damaged. Children have grown up, missing the love of a parent. Mothers and fathers had their hearts broken beyond repair over the lose of sons and daughters. Nothing but pain emerged from that day. At least for Americans.

Never, ever forget, Americans. Never.
