Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 South West Michigan – Generally Cloudy, A Few Flurries Possible

Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 South West Michigan – Generally Cloudy, A Few Flurries Possible

Currently 34 with an average wind from the NNW of 13 mph making it feel like 25. Dew Point 32, Humidity 93%, Barometer 29.54, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:10 am, Sunset 5:09 pm. Generally cloudy with a few snow flurries possible. High mid 30s. NNW winds 10 -20 mph.

Cloudy overnight with a low of 27. NW winds 10 -20 mph.

Now there is the chance of some snow showers in our forecast several days before Christmas, so the opportunity for the proverbial White Christmas certainly is hanging out there. I don’t care one way or another, but plenty do. Frankly I’d rather see nice, clear roads to travel on, but that’s just me. Anyway, today is the first official day of my least favorite season – Winter. Hurray! Not!

Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018 South West Michigan – Light Rain, Maybe Some Snow Overnight

Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018 South West Michigan – Light Rain, Maybe Some Snow Overnight

Currently 39 with a SE wind of 7mph making it feel like 33 degrees. Dew Point 35, Humidity 88%, Barometer 29.75 & falling, Visibility 5 mi., Sunrise 8:09 am, Sunset 5:09 pm. Cloudy with an 80% chance of light rain today. High 43. SSE winds 5 -10 mph.

70% chance of rain overnight, some snow might mix in. Low 34. N winds 10 -15 mph.

Got .02″ of rain overnight and it looks to be a bit misty out there right now I’m just grateful that the temperature is high enough for the time being to allow the precipitation to be rain and not snow. Still a very slight chance of some light snow on Christmas Day, who knows by then what we’ll be seeing. So far, so good for those of us anti-snow folks.

Wednesday, Dec. 19. 2018 South West Michigan – Clouds But Mild

Wednesday, Dec. 19. 2018 South West Michigan – Clouds But Mild

Currently 33 with an average wind from the S of 8 mph making it feel like 26 degrees. Dew Point 25, Humidity 73%, Barometer 29.94 & falling, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:09 am, Sunset 5:08 pm. Partly cloudy today with a high of 42.

Partly cloudy becoming mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of showers. Low 35. S winds 5 – 10 mph.

So enjoying this mild streak in our usual wintry weather. Now there is a pretty good chance for some snow on Christmas day, which I’m certain gladdens the hearts of many. Not mine, particularly. Just means I’ll have to be transporting food and gifts on snowy roads. Not thrilled with that thought. I’m perfectly comfortable – no, happy even – with a Christmas bringing not a single solitary snowflake. I guess what comes along, comes along. We’ll cope with it as usual, I’m sure.

Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018 South West Michigan – Frosty But No Snow

Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018 South West Michigan – Frosty But No Snow

Currently 18 with a S wind of 2 mph. Feels like 18 degrees. Dew Point 18, Humidity 100%, Barometer 30.10 & rising, Visibility 9 mi., Sunrise 8:08 am, Sunset 5:08 pm. Sunny today with a high of 37. S winds 5 -10 mph.

Mostly clear overnight, low 30. SSW winds 5 – 10 mph,

Our snow has pretty much vanished and none in sight for awhile. However, it’s so chilly this morning that frost is everywhere. Anyone with a car parked outside is a guaranteed time of scraping the windows before taking off today. Thank goodness there is no wind. It feels cold enough as it is, if there was wind it would be truly miserable. Friday there is a chance of a frozen mix and maybe some snow shower on Sunday, but until then it’s all good for those our running around trying to wrap up Christmas.

Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 South West Michigan – Partly Sunny Today

Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 South West Michigan – Partly Sunny Today

Currently 32 with a NW wind of 11 mph making it feel like 23 degrees. Dew Point 25, Humidity 74%, Barometer 30.14 & rising, Visibility 10 mi., Sunrise 8:08 am, Sunset 5:08 pm. Partly cloudy with  a high in the low to mid 30s. NW winds 10 -15 mph.

Partly cloudy tonight, low 24. NNW wind 5 -10 mph.

Seeing some sunshine today, which is lovely. It’s a weak peek right at the moment, but the cloud cover is thin and I suspect we’ll get a better view off and on throughout the day. Still showing a chance of rain Thursday and Friday but other than that, smooth sailing for most of the week.

Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 South West Michigan – Freezing Fog Alert

Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 South West Michigan – Freezing Fog Alert

Currently 30 with a SSW wind of 5 mph making it feel like 26. Dew Point 29, Humidity 95%, Barometer 30.07 & falling, Visibility 0.8 mi., Sunrise 8:07 am, Sunset 5:07 pm. There is a Freezing Fog Alert out until 1:00pm. Areas of fog, partly cloudy later in the afternoon. High 39. WSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Generally clear overnight, low 29. W winds 5 – 10 mph.

Quite foggy this morning and the freezing fog is a nasty thing to have to deal with and watch out for. Something just not right about that. One should have fog…or one should have freezing conditions. But unfair to combine both. Mother Nature fooling around again. A few fairly decent days coming up before another chance for rain and perhaps a day of wintry mix about Thursday and Friday. We’ll just have to enjoy the nice ones and hope the not so nice ones change before their due date.

Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 South West Michigan – Foggy Morning, Some Sun Later

Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 South West Michigan – Foggy Morning, Some Sun Later

Currently 31 with an average wind from the ENE of 7 mph making it feel like 24 degrees. Dew Point 28, Humidity 89%, Barometer 30.22, Visibility 5 mi., Sunrise 8:06 am, Sunset 5:07 pm. Areas of freezing morning fog. Sunny to partly cloudy afternoon. ENE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Cloudy to partly cloudy overnight. Areas of freezing fog possible. Low 26. ENE winds 5 – 10 mph.

Can you imagine the fun Mother Nature is having at our expense? First we have unseasonable cold and wintry weather settling in way too early, and now with people dreaming of a White Christmas? Ha! Chances of that happening is about slim to none right at the moment. Me? I don’t care. I’ve always said I can celebrate Christmas under a Palm Tree as well as a Pine Tree..and sand beats snow any day in my book. But for so many, snowflakes are almost mandatory to have a proper Christmas. Maybe not this year, peeps. So far, it isn’t looking promising.

Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 South West Michigan – Morning Fog, Afternoon Sunshine

Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 South West Michigan – Morning Fog, Afternoon Sunshine

Currently 36 with a NE wind of 1 mph. Feels like 36 degrees. Dew Point 34, Humidity 96%, Barometer 30.20 & rising, Visibility 1.5 mi., Sunrise 8:06 am, Sunset 5:07 pm. Areas of morning fog, partly cloudy afternoon. High 42. Light and variable winds.

Mostly cloudy early becoming partly cloudy after midnight. Low 27. N winds 5 – 10 mph.

The overnight rain (Measured .35″) has pretty much cleared away the snow ground cover except in sheltered spots. Nice to see bare ground again, even if it’s a muddy mess for now. Seeing anything other than the absence of color that is white encourages me. Sounds like a really decent weekend with, so far, no precip showing up until about next Thursday. And for now, that is expected to be rain. Hurray!

Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 South West Michigan – Clouds, Some Sun, Freezing Rain…Getting It All

Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 South West Michigan – Clouds, Some Sun, Freezing Rain…Getting It All

Currently 31 with an ESE wind of 3 mph making it feel like 28 degrees. Dew Point 26, Humidity 81%, Barometer 30.14 & rising, Visibility 4 mi., Sunrise 8:05 am, Sunset 5:07 pm. Cloudy early with peeks of the sun later. High 37. Light and variable winds.

100% chance of light freezing rain early, then rain overnight. Low 29. Light and variable winds.

Sounds like today is a good day to get out and about tending to whatever needs tending. Maybe not so much tomorrow. And certainly not tonight. Freezing rain is a misery, making roads slick and dangerous. Fingers crossed that part of it all misses us.

Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018 South West Michigan – Afternoon Wintry Mix Possible

Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018 South West Michigan – Afternoon Wintry Mix Possible

Currently 29 with an average wind from the ESE of 14 mph making it feel like 18 degrees. Dew Point 25, Humidity 84%, Barometer 29.92 & falling, Visibility 5 mi., Sunrise 8:04 am, Sunset 5:06 pm. Partly cloudy morning with an 80% chance of afternoon snow/rain mix. High 37. SE winds 10 -20 mph.

A few snow flurries overnight. Low 26. SSW winds 5 – 10 mph.

Not sure what today will bring, but looking forward already for some sunshine about Saturday. At least that’s the rumor.  For now our snow pack is dwindling but might be added to later today and overnight. We’ll see.
